Thanksgiving Tablescapes to ''Wow"

Thinking of hosting Thanksgiving this year? If so, you need to start thinking about how you want to decorate and ''wow'' your guest. Hosting an elegant Thanksgiving dinner for your friends and family is not an easy task, but with these simple tips you can pull it off. Whether you're a pro when it comes to planning parties or this is your first time, these tips will go a long way. Thanksgiving is focused on eating delicious food, spending time with your loved ones and being thankful (And sometimes football, especially in my house). And let’s be honest most of that time will be spent around the dinner table, so you should focus most of your decor around there. To help you throw the ultimate Thanksgiving dinner, I am going to show you how to create some cheap, but oh so fabulous Thanksgiving decorations that actually look chic trendy and fabulous. But don’t you worry, I have inspiring table decor ideas that are perfect for your holiday event no matter what the budget is. A few simple and inexpensive touches will go a long way!

When it comes to picking out things for your table decor go for some trendy colors this season like rose gold or gold and pair them with the fall classics like brown orange yellow red and green. When you mix the two color pallets together it will create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Throw them together with some ivories or whites for some perfectly balanced Thanksgiving decor. To make the decor perfect, add some pieces that symbolize thankfulness to capture the essence of Thanksgiving. Finish off your place settings with some napkin rings or some fun DIY place cards. Help your friends find their seats by taking some small pumpkins and writing names with a gold sharpie in a nice script font on some card stock and tying it around the pumpkin stem.

Rustic is another hot trend and it my opinion it’s perfect for Thanksgiving. To create a stunning rustic centerpiece for your thanksgiving dinner table arrange some flowers ivory flowers like peonies, rosebuds, hydrangeas and pair them with some jewel-toned blooms to highlight fall colors like chrysanthemums and arrange all the flowers in wooden vases or for an extra touch of thanksgiving try placing them in a carved out pumpkin for a rustic holiday flair. Use some natural wooden slices under your centerpieces. Use simple white plates and a white table runner to add some class to your place settings. To keep to the rustic theme going you can add little personalized “name” tags on burlap and place them on each plate. If you don’t want to go with name tags but like the burlap idea, use burlap to wrap your cutlery and tie them with some twine and a leaf. Also, place some taper candles in crystal holders on the table for a captivating look.

Fed up of using shades of red, orange and yellow every year for your thanksgiving dinner tablescape? So am I! This year give a chic look to your decor with an eccentric color, my go to colors are always teal and pink. If you’re not sure what colors to use, add some of the colors around your house to help the decor seem like it belongs and it’s not screaming “cheap holiday decor going on right here”. If you don’t want to take such a plunge and let go of your traditional fall decorations and colors, that’s okay, there is nothing wrong with using pumpkins and artificial leaves within your table centerpieces. Play, have fun with incorporating both of the old with the new!

To give your thanksgiving dinner table a truly stylish look, set up a unique “Thankful” centerpiece with some 3-d Letters. You can find them at any Joann’s, Michael’s or Walmart. Paint them white and even add some glitter dust to them. Line up all the letters in the center of the table and surround them with a green garland glam up the look. Finally add some and some metallic votives with white votive candles to add the perfect illuminating effect.

If your thanksgiving décor is on a really tight budget this year and wish to keep the cost of hosting thanksgiving lower, look at using things like balloons. Create cute thanksgiving balloons by writing messages on them& making other balloons look like turkeys. The completed balloons can then be tied together with some twine rope and used around the table and chairs. For a full tutorial on the balloons click here. For the centerpieces use a stylish glass vase filled with some cranberries and place a candle on top to create an amazing centerpiece.

Trying to go for those picture-perfect Instagram worthy photos, or trying to bring your decor to the next level? You can also create a backdrop behind your dining room table using streamers, sequin table clothes or fabric, thanksgiving banners, flowers etc. A backdrop is not only a great way to enhance the look of the room, but it makes for a beautiful backdrop for all the Instagram photos you take with your family and friends.

As you can see, there are several ways you can transform a dull event into an exciting and interesting one by adding a unique touch to your decor. These ideas will surely help you create an impressive and enchanting thanksgiving dinner tablescape. Are you going to go with the traditional color scheme or will you try something new this year? Or have my Thanksgiving ideas inspired you enough to incorporate them into your own party? Please share your thoughts with me in the comments below!
